For the money, this is an excellet 40″ TV which we have solely connected to the internet to offer a range of live and on deman tv. We access the standard terrestial channels as well as their catch up option, Apple TV, Prime TV and Netflix. Set up was incredibly simple and we were ready to view within minutes of installing it on the wall. Two feet are provided to make an optionmal stand but we did not require these.
Operation is simple and the TV starts quickly. We found the standard LED on the lower central edge a bit annoying as this unit is installed in our bedroom. We opted to use a Tapo plug to isolate the mains power, which results in the TV taking longer to start up but as we don’t use it that much it doesnt really effect us.
The remote is simple to use and has the option to use Alexa to control various elements. We are a bit old fashioned in this regard and simply prefer to press buttons to access what stations and option we require. It is pretty good to control and every bit as good as the LG model costing over 6 times the price of this item which is in our sitting room. In terms of picture quality, this item punches above its weight and whilst it isn’t as good as our LG TV, it isnt that far behind for standard viewing. The weak point I suppose is the sond quality, it isn’t bad but this illustrates that this is a budget priced TV. So it doesn’t have the dynamic range of our main TV, nor is it as good as a further TV we have with a Bose soundbar, however, it does have a remarkably small price point which at £169.00 to use represented extraordinary value for money for a TV used mainly to watch the breakfast news with limited use during the day.
One additional thing that this TV has encouraged me to do is to access you tube, which I haven’t really done before, prefeerring to rely on my iPad. This TV has made me realise on what I have missed!
Great TV, well woth the money and 5 stars. Recommended.

I bought this in the sales as an idea to upgrade my gaming set up. I have been impressed by a lot of things about this inexpensive TV. It’s light, dragging a 43″ to the attic wasn’t as bad as expected, set up was easy, connection to WiFi straightforward and without issue. Also connected to my Prime account. Let me say that the sound is well above average for this kind of TV, it’s good, clear and with a good range, I’ve scrapped the PC speakers they are that good. I initially thought there was a lag between computer and screen but as soon as I set the input type to PC it vanished, I assume picture processing and upscale for TV input. It works a treat from only having a network connection as well, no aerial. I’ve spent a fair few hours using it now and can’t fault it. Crisp, clear picture with good colour, nice sound, responsive when watching anything. Impressed.

Good points and some bad points.
First the bad.
It is very slow and sluggish to start with the channel menu or apps taking a very long time to load.
The sound quality is quite poor with adjustments in the settings not making any significant difference.
Good points – the image quality is excellent, far better than you would expect for something at this price point.
Great selection of apps.
Be patient with the start up speed, once it’s going everything is fine.
You get used to the sound after a few minutes.
The picture quality makes it a very worthwhile buy for me.
If you’re in the market for a good value tv for the kitchen or the kids room don’t hesitate.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Generally very good TV with really decent images and good sound for the price you pay.
Quick start up. Lots of apps.
All in all excellent product for a budget option.
Great value for money.

Purchased on 30/08/2024 as a present for my daughter’s birthday. It really is a nice TV, especially the lack of visible frame with lovely HD images. The screen is incredibly clear. The TV is very easy to connect to WiFi and set up. The remote control although small is very nice and easy to use.
Alas yesterday (12/12/2024) the TV developed a fault. The bottom 3 to 4 cm of the screen and all the way across the screen has developed flickering lines that will not go away.
I have booked a repair through the TCL website (very long winded to do) and I hope the issue will be sorted.
Once again it’s a very TV but I m quite unhappy it has only lasted a little over three months before becoming faulty.

I bought this because didn’t want to spend more, and I specifically choose the FireTV version because we have MacBooks and iphones. (this one has apple mirroring thing) But it also works with my Samsung S23, so it’s no problem. But if you don’t need apple screen mirroring, Android TV version would be better because of the app store and more app options.
The screen is 4K UHD, excellent. Audio(speakers) is meh, it could be better but for the money, this is a great tv. I’ve noticed a slight light bleeding from the sides, but this is common with all LCD/LED screens, so I can’t complain. I guess it’s just me being a bit nerdy.
The speed of the smart TV is acceptable; it’s not the fastest, but it won’t annoy you either. It’s a budget TV after all.
Freeview is cool. I can watch most of the leading TV channels via the internet.
