Unless you cut a hole in the closed in, the sponge has a tendency to float off and come off the stick. Easy to cut a hole with a scissors.

Used this on an aquael pat mini since the sponge that comes with it is too course for baby shrimp. This one is much better and I have seen newly born baby shrimp grazing on it with no issues. Only downsize is that since it is finer, it fills with sediment and fish poop faster. I have to clean it every week, but I just do it with water changes so it’s no big deal to squeeze it out in the old fish tank water.

I really like sponge filter systems. I actually have sponge filters working with the regular filters going too. I love that my fish get extra bubbles from the sponge filter not to mention how great they work. Thank you

Only received 1 out of 4 of the sponges. Not worth the time to return for refund either. Just don’t waste you’re time on this one.
