The rewards are excellent, as is the interest free period on purchases. However, I went to buy some new carpets and the card was rejected, no text or call from Barclaycard. I ended up paying on another card, that went straight through, at a small charge. I phoned Barclaycard and expressed my disappointment and embarrassment. The advisor that took the call said the card had been blocked, no explanation, no reasoning behind the block. All he said was that he had unblocked it, I began to complain and he disconnected the call. I complained to Barclaycard and got £25 added to my account, still no explanation. So beware if buying a large ticket item.

I find it helpful to have a dedicated visa card it is so much simpler to buy from amazon with just one click.

Phone call with agent re Amazon/visa Barclaycard. Lady concerned was extra helpful and talked me through setting up Direct Debit. It is the fourth day I have spent so much time on this matter. The agent at Barclaycard was the first bot/agent, online or call two recognise that my card would not be accepted as it differed from the basic Barclaycard!! It would be helpful if agents/bots and others recognise that it is unlikely out of the blue a caller would deliberately choose to enter a wrong card number without enquiring if it might be Amazon visa. When I first received the card I had a lot of refusals of acceptance at various outlets for no apparent reason. This would result in messages to ring barclay card who would go through things but never actually say why it had been refused. It seems better now and generally settled down when it has been refused I since ignored a couple of messages to phone Barclays and it then works fine at the next retailer. Strange indeed.

I signed into the Amazon Barclaycard before Christmas primarily to take advantage of a fabulous £50 credit offer alongside a fair ongoing cashback deal – which, unlike other ‘deals’, gives the account holder true spending power!!! I’m one who continually reviews the true value of my credit card cashback deals, and I’m confident that Amazon Barclaycard will remain at the forefront for a long time to come!!! Thanks for the rewards!!!

I work for Nationwide and always had a Nationwide Credit card which was good but I never got anything back from it.
Barclay card has earned me £7 cashback just in my first month of using it. It’s not a big amount but it’s a good feeling that I’m getting something back for using it.
